1. Who we are

Zen ("Zen," "Zen-Fi," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Zen Financial Group LLC, a limited liability company organized in Florida. Zen is a personal net-worth and portfolio tracking application and website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website at zen-fi.com and the Zen mobile app (together, the "Services").

This policy is provided in part to satisfy the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and applicable U.S. state privacy laws. By using the Services, you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Waitlist & contact information — your email address when you join our early-access list or contact us.
• Account information — when the app launches, the name, email, and credentials you use to create an account.
• Assets you add manually — details of holdings you enter by hand (e.g., real estate, collectibles, gaming items).

Financial account information (via Plaid)

If you choose to connect a financial account, our data provider Plaid Inc. accesses it on a read-only basis and provides us information such as account balances, holdings, and transactions. Zen cannot move money or place trades. See Section 4.

Information collected automatically

• Device & usage data — IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and how you interact with the Services.
• Market & pricing data — we retrieve pricing for your assets from third-party data sources to display your net worth and Zen Score.

3. How we use your information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including calculating your net worth and Zen Score;
• Power the AI news feed by matching news to the assets you hold;
• Communicate with you, including waitlist updates, launch news, and support (see your opt-out rights below);
• Secure the Services, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug;
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information to provide personalized investment advice, and nothing we show constitutes financial advice. See our Disclosures.

4. Financial account data & Plaid

We use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to connect to financial institutions you choose. By connecting an account, you also agree to Plaid's end-user privacy policy and grant Plaid the right to access and transmit your information consistent with that policy. You can review it at plaid.com/legal.

• Plaid's access is read-only. Zen never receives your bank login credentials and cannot initiate payments or trades.
• We use Plaid-sourced data only to provide the Services described here.
• You can disconnect a linked institution and request deletion of the associated data at any time (see Section 8).

5. How we share information

We share information only as follows:

• Service providers — vendors who help us operate the Services (e.g., Plaid for account connectivity, cloud hosting, email/waitlist tools, and analytics), bound by contract to protect your data.
• Legal & safety — when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
• With your direction — when you ask us to share information.

6. We do not sell your data

Zen does not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California and other state laws. Because Zen is designed to be a paid product, you are our customer — not the product. Where required, we honor opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, and Canada under PIPEDA and applicable provincial laws), you may have the right to:

• Know or access the personal information we hold about you;
• Request correction or deletion of your information;
• Request a portable copy of your information;
• Opt out of any sale/share or targeted advertising (note: we do not engage in these);
• Appeal a denial of your request, where applicable;
• Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To exercise any right, email us at support@zen-fi.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law. California residents may also have rights under the "Shine the Light" law regarding disclosures to third parties for their direct marketing.

8. Data retention & deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as needed to provide the Services and for legitimate legal, accounting, or security purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@zen-fi.com or, once the app launches, through the in-app account-deletion option. Deleting your account disconnects any linked Plaid institutions and removes associated personal data, subject to limited retention required by law.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including 256-bit AES encryption for data at rest and in transit, biometric (Face ID / Touch ID) app locks, access controls, and read-only account connections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and authorities as required by applicable law.

10. Children's privacy

The Services are intended for adults 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Cookies & analytics

Our website does not currently use third-party analytics or advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. We may use a small number of essential first-party cookies needed for the site to function. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and provide any opt-out required by law, and we honor browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
